Arnold Drive Elementary School Reviews

So far I am really a bit disappointed in this school, esp being on a military base. The academics seem good and the teachers are friendly, but there are so many restrictions placed on the children: strict uniforms, no playing cops-n-robbers using fingers as guns, they must be quiet all the time (even at lunch), and very little playtime. Children can't be children! I agree that education is important, but so is being a child and they will grow up soon enough! Not only that, but these kids have military parents who deploy and they need to be themselves to cope! Never in all the schools I have attended when I was a military child did I deal with this, and I turned out to be a very successful network magazine editor, I guess being myself in the schools was not so bad. Why start now?

This is a very good school with teachers who care and do their very best for each of the children. The Principal is very involved in both the life of the community and with the District, and she is well respected by both the teachers and the District employees. Students receive fair grades and are not just promoted because they showed up. Good school, high standards.

I have 2 children attending this school and I am more than satisfied with the education they are receiving. Both of my kids are thriving there. I have found the Principal to be very approachable and involved in the success of each student. Here is some advice I offer to all parents of school-aged children...become involved in your child's school! Take the time to get to know the teacher, take an interest in your child's day-to-day schedule...it takes both the parents and the teachers to ensure success.

I am a parent of 2 children at Arnold Drive Elementary School. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with the teachers and principal. I know that rumors fly and things get blown out of proportion sometimes, especially here on our military base but the bigger person finds out the truth. There are some amazing teachers at this school. Teachers that choose to teach at Arnold Dr. for our children. FYI - when you go to a magnet school or private school... they have problems too and at a private school you are paying for them!

We are very happy with Arnold Drive Elementary nd have never experienced any of the issues addressd in earlier posts. We tranfered our child to this school and will keep our child at the school.

I would not recommend this school to anyone. My children have been going to this school for one school year. The teacher felt that my children was improving in reading. But the principle felt like she wasn't ready for the next grade. The principle didn't listen to anyone of my concerns and told me that I had to pay for a tutor during the summer in order to consider to retest before the next school year. I'm looking for private school or a magnet school that will be able to put my child needs first then theirs. Anyone who is thinking of senting their child/children here, think again please. Teachers have more personal problems between themselves that they don't think of what the children my hear come out of their mouths. Teachers have agruments in front of students,I have also witness teachers calling students names to the faces.

I am so glad the school year is over, my kids along with many other childrens parent have spoken with will be going to a magnet school next year. The principal is not involved and anytime I have called the school I am told she is not there or is unavailable. I had issues that I tried to talk to her about and was basically blown off. Thank Goodness for the magnet schools.

I would recommend Arnold Drive to any parent who wants a high-quality education for their child. Who also wants an administrative staff who truly cares about your child and the education he/she needs. My children have been attending this school for 2 1/2 years. If I have any concerns it is always handled in a timely manner. The principal is there if needed are she returns her phone calls promptly. There are so many good things going on at Arnold Drive. No school is perfect but this one comes pretty close to it. Keep up the Great Work at Arnold Drive!

the administration is very disorganized and has no heart or feeling for the children. The admin. begs you to sign in to the 'volunteer' book just for you to eat lunch with your child so they can get an award for parent involvment not for you to have quality time with your child. I have been at this school 2 years and it has NEVER been what can we do for your child but how much money can we get out of your pocket and what can you do for our school. do not attend here.

Would never recommend this school! I have had problems with this school for 3 years. It started when my child's kindergarten teacher had some type of nervous breakdown and was out for the first part of the semester where they were supervised by volunteer parents (not taught).and eventually the last semester had a teacher come in. This year among the most recent of events there is a head lice incident going around which no one was informed about and so it is going untreated. When you call to talk to the principal she is always univailable. I always receive request for money or the same PTO(needs money) memo 3 or 4 days straight but when asked about a head lice note the principal had not gotten around to it, according to a teacher I would have nevr found out if I had not 'heard it through the grape vine.
